PRESS AND COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE
The scientific committee fulfills the function of encouraging the development of scientific thought at the Spanish Psychoanalytic Society through activities of interest, as well as of promoting communication and relationships with other societies nationwide as well as internationally.
The scientific committee is an advisory body, as opposed to an executive body. Their proposals must be approved of by the Board of Directors.

THE TRAINING COMMITTEE
The training committee is the council of the Spanish Psychoanalytic Society in charge of making all decisions regarding the acceptance of candidates to training, and their subsequent access to the successive stages of training.
The functions of this committee include decisions regarding admissions, authorization to begin supervised cases of analysis, and acceptance of the final training paper.
The training committee also collaborates with the Institute of Psychoanalysis of Barcelona in the design of the training program, and proposes modifications to the standards of training for psychoanalysts. These proposals are then put to a vote at the assemblies held at the Spanish Psychoanalytic Society.
The training committee is a council that conducts itself in a formal way, through individual interviews with the candidate or prospective candidate. Similarly, evaluations are made by the committee as a whole.

THE PROMOTIONS COMMITTEE
The promotions committee fulfills the function of evaluating the aptitudes of the members who, having accrued clinical experience, wish to accredit it by becoming full members of the Spanish Psychoanalytic Society. For that purpose the committee evaluates the aspirant´s clinical experience as well as his/her ability for theoretical elaboration of the therapeutic process.
This same committee also grants training functions to full members who, having had the opportunity to develop in psychoanalytic practice, would like to analyze candidates, give clinical seminars or supervise training cases.

THE ETHICS COMMITTEE
The Ethics Committee promotes debate on all types of issues regarding ethics that arise from the practice of psychoanalysis and social interaction.
It also intervenes in the study and in the writing of reports concerning the problems related to possible violations of the Code of Ethics and Deontology of the Spanish Psychoanalytic Society, and in the updating of the statutes and the internal regulations referred to in the code.
Lastly, this committee promotes a forum where topics of current interest – social, biological or cultural – may be reflected upon. To this end the committee attempts to stimulate dialogue and interdisciplinary cooperation to broaden our understanding of the human being and his context.

THE PUBLICATIONS COMMITTE
The publications committee is in charge of periodically rethinking the publication policy of the Spanish Psychoanalytic Society as well as presenting relevant proposals to the Board of Directors.
This committee also fulfills the need for a space where publications may be coordinated, and most especially the online journal Temas de Psicoanálisis, and the Revista Catalana de Psicoanàlisi in traditional paper format.
Lastly, this committee works to diffuse and stimulate the works authored by members of the Spanish Psychoanalytic Society both within as well as outside of the Society.

WEBSITE COMMITTEE
This committee works to make the website of the Spanish Psychoanalytic Society a tool for the diffusion of psychoanalysis as well as a space open to and promoting interaction, communication and dialogue between members, the different committees and other scientific societies.
Website contents are regularly updated, and most especially information pertaining to the different activities that the Society organizes, degrees and seminars offered, and any other information that is considered to be relevant to the Spanish Psychoanalytic Society and related entities.

PRESS AND COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
This committee insures that the Society´s communications plan is satisfactorily met. Its main aim is to promote and diffuse events, conferences and meetings that the Spanish Psychoanalytic Society organizes. It also seeks to introduce the Society, its history and trajectory, as well as the training it offers and the scientific works its members publish.
It strives to reach, in the most efficient manner, a wide range of professionals or future professionals working in the field of psychoanalysis, and in mental health. It also targets the press and specialized programs aimed at a potentially interested audience that wants to learn more about psychoanalysis and its applications.
